The PADI Seal Team Course
The PADI Seal Team course is perfect for young divers who are looking for action-packed fun in a pool by doing exciting scuba AquaMissions. Participants get the chance to learn about scuba diving in a controlled environment, meet friends and share in the adventure of the underwater world.
The Fun Part
The best part of the Seal Team course is learning to dive with children of a similar age and having lots of fun.
In addition, it provides parents with a structured program that lets their children develop skills, learn about the aquatic environment and get active. This is also an excellent way to introduce kids to scuba diving prior to an Open Water Diver certification.
What will you learn?
The PADI Seal Team course teaches responsibility and respect for the underwater world, as well as looking out for yourself and your buddy underwater. The course includes five dives, called AquaMissions 1 to 5. These dives cover basic scuba diving skills such as breathing underwater, clearing a mask of water, recovering a regulator and swimming around experiencing the sensation of being weightless. Each session involves an hour for a dive briefing, equipment preparation and time for questions, before we spend an hour in the water with full scuba kit. We finish each lesson with a debriefing along with logging the dive in the Seal Team log book.
Complete all five AquaMissions and become a recognized PADI Seal Team Member. Once your child has become a Seal Team Member, they can continue into more advanced AquaMissions and earn their Master Seal Team rating throguh our Junior Dive Club sessions!
The Scuba Gear
In the PADI Seal Team program, children learn to use basic scuba gear, including a mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device, pressure gauge and cylinder. We provide scuba kit designed for children, including small cylinders, junior mouthpieces and child sized buoyancy control devices to make sure each dive is as comfortable as possible. All our training equipment is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between uses for peace of mind.
The Learning Materials You Need
Each Seal Team recruit will recieve their own PADI Seal Team Crewpak. The Seal Team Crewpak includes everything a PADI Seal Team Member needs to prepare for their AquaMissions including a fun DVD, activity book with puzzles, and log book pages to track their adventures. At the end of the course, participants earn their first scuba certification card, showing your child as a qualified Seal Team member!
Prerequisites
To join the PADI Seal Team, a child must be 8 years of age or older. No prior experience with scuba diving is necessary, but children should be comfortable in the water. Parental approval is required, and you need to complete a Diver Medical Form, which can be viewed here. This may need signing by a physician depending on your child's medical history. Please check this prior to booking your child's Seal Team course, and get in touch if you have any questions
The Next Adventure
Upon successful completion of the first five AquaMissions, students become PADI Seal Team members, and are ready to join our regular Junior Dive Club. Our Junior Dive Club sessions are a great opportunity to develop your scuba skills, and take part in speciality Aquamissions which count towards the Master Seal Team rating. When children are 10 years old, they can complete the Junior PADI Open Water Diver certification too!
