The PADI Bubblemaker Experience
When I speak to divers, the one regret they have about learning to dive is not doing so earlier in life!
Introducing children to the wonders of the underwater world can set them up with a passion and a skill for life. Diving encourages teamwork, communication and time being active, and so is a great activity for any young person to undertake.
By teaching children to dive we aim to be able to pass on our passion for diving and the underwater world onto the next generation, so they can protect the oceans and enjoy them as we do.
The Fun Part
Youngsters can join in the family fun of scuba diving or even start a trend! Children should be comfortable in the water, but they don’t have to be super swimmers. With youngsters in mind, the maximum depth is only 2 metres. Bubblemaker sessions with Hidden Depths Scuba School last 2 hours. This includes time to fully brief the divers about the session and the diving equipment they will be using, as well as time to answer any questions you or your children have. From here the children will spend up to an hour in the water having fun, all under the supervision of a fully qualified PADI Professional.
What Children Learn
Bubblemakers get a chance to:
- Experience what scuba diving is like under the direct care and supervision of PADI Instructors
- Take their first breath underwater
- Learn about and use scuba diving equipment made for children – not adults
The Scuba Gear
Children use all the same basic scuba gear as adults, but sized for them! The pool we use is nice and warm, so there is no need to use wetsuits, although you’re welcome to bring your child's wetsuit, if they have their own. All our training equipment is thouroughly cleaned and disinfected between uses for piece of mind.
Prerequisites
The PADI Bubblemaker program is for children age 8 and above. There is no need for your child to be an expert swimmer, but a good level of comfort in the water will make sure they get the most out of thier first dive with us.
Your Next Adventure
Bubblemakers can continue their adventure by completing AquaMissions during the PADI Seal Team program. Those who are 10-14 years old can take the Junior PADI Open Water Diver course too!
