The new Tec Basics course prepares you for future tec training courses, by orientating divers to new equipment configurations and skills.
Tec Basics is a multi-use course that focuses on orientation to new equipment, technical diving skills and techniques. It is an optional level that can also be used to help divers learn new configurations or refine their skills before moving on to the next Tec Diver level.
What You'll Learn
The PADI Tec Basics course consists of two knowledge development sections using the new PADI Tec Basics eLearning, one practical application session and two training dives. You'll learn about:
- Technical diving equipment, proper rigging and setup
- Trim, positioning and propulsion techniques including back finning and helicopter turns
- Team diving techniques and emergency procedures to deal with free flows and out of gas situations
The Scuba Gear You'll Use
You can take the Tec Basics course in a variety of equipment configurations. You have options to complete the course in a single cylinder, a twinset or in sidemount. Should you wish to progress into the Tec 45 course and beyond, you will need to be in a full technical set up, so it would be best to start in this configuration from the start.
We have full technical equipment you can use for the course, which will allow you to build experience and understand more about the equipment needs for technical diving which can help as you build your own equipment prior to further tec courses.
