Latest Covid Info

Page Updated - 1st February 2022

As the world moves forward into a time where people are able to continue their daily lives alongside covid, we're pleased to once again be able to offer our diving services on a full time basis. From the start of March 2022, we will be back offering dives seven days a week! If you're looking for mid-week training please get in touch, as we will be happy to help.

We're aware that covid won't be going away, so will be maintaining attention to details such as kit disinfection and minimising the risk of disease transmittion when undertaking our training courses and dives. Our dive team are all fully vaccinated, so you can be confident of a safe environment when learning to dive.

19th July 2021

Following the removal of the remaining Covid restrictions in England, we're pleased to say all our scuba courses, dive trips, kit hire and other dive club activities are now fully up and running. We can now arrange group activities such as Discover Scuba Dives for Scout groups and Guide groups, as well as any other groups larger than 6 people.

We will continue to abide by regulations put in place by the locations we visit, such as Thornbury Leisure Centre and Vobster Quay, who have requested that masks continue to be worn whilst inside. Our enhanced dive kit cleaning and disinfecting regime will continue, and all course theory will be through PADI's eLearning platform (unless that course hasn't got digital course materials yet).

4th May 2021

We are now able to operate outside dives, including local quarry dives and sea dives. All continuing education training that does not involve pool training can resume. Single day dive trips are also taking place, however overnight stays are not permitted until later this month.

From Monday 17th May people will be able to meet indoors again in groups of up to 6 people. We will be able to resume pool dates from this point, meaning our first pool dive of 2021 will take place on Thursday 20th May and will run weekly from this date onwards. All club trips from this date onwards will be going ahead as planned, although many still have reduced capacity due to covid restrictions.

It's great to be back!!

22nd February 2021

It's great to be reading about the easing of lockdown restrictions in the UK, which means a return to diving and teaching are visible on the horizon!

My initial understanding includes outdoor gatherings of up to six people can take place from the 29th March, allowing local dives and outdoor courses to resume. This will include all courses that can be completed without the use of a swimming pool. Initially this will be at local inland dive sites to reduce travel, and then later at seaside locations.

From the 12th April Leisure Centres and swimming pools can reopen, however there can be no mixed households at this point. We don't anticipate being able to resume indoor pool dives on that date, as it's not until the 17th May when indoor restrictions may be eased further. We will update this page as soon as there is any more news on these dates. Published course dates have been adjusted to reflect these latest dates.

Clearly this is subject to the wider Covid-19 situation continuing to move in the right direction, and all the dates are provisional on this basis. That said, it's great to have something to look forward to, and I can't wait to dive with all our amazing divers again soon.

5th January 2021

With England entering another full lockdown, we have had to suspend all training and dives until further notice.

We're still accepting online bookings, although all course dates are provisional until we know when we will be able to resume our pool sessions and training dives.

We are very happy to arrange online sessions to cover dive theory for any course, allowing you to focus on the practical training once in-water sessions can begin again.
