PADI re-activate

Who should take the course?

Haven’t been diving lately and want a scuba refresher? Our Bristol-based PADI Re-Activate program is the perfect way to update your dive skills and knowledge from your previous training courses before jumping back into the water. Whether you want a few reminders or need to go over the basics, Re-Activate is personalised to your experience and needs. First, conveniently review scuba concepts on your tablet, mobile device or computer. Then go diving with one of our PADI professionals in the pool, and you can even add an open water dive too.

It’s quick and easy, and a good way to prepare for your next course or get ready for a diving trip. As an extra bonus, divers who complete both the knowledge and in-water skill refresher receive a replacement certification card with a ‘Re-Activated’ date on it. Perfect if you can’t remember where your certification card has gone!

Your PADI certification does not expire, but your skills do deteriorate without use, just like any other skill. Participation in PADI Re-Activate is not mandatory, but recommended as an easy way to refresh your foundational scuba safety knowledge and skills if you haven’t been diving in a while.

You don’t need to be a PADI qualified diver to participate in the PADI Re-Activate programme. Re-Activate is open to anyone with an entry-level scuba certification with a minimum of four open water training dives.

What you will learn

Using the digital Re-Activate Touch programme you’ll immerse yourself in dive scenarios and make decisions that test your understanding of important dive safety concepts, dive planning essentials and problem management. You can move through Re-Activate at your own pace and delve deeper into topics when you need or want to.

In the water, we will help you regain comfort and confidence in scuba diving. You’ll practice a few safety-related skills and then go over anything you specifically want to review. Our pre-dive briefing will give you a chance to discuss to the skills you want to practice or any skills you were never really comfortable with, and your instructor for the dive will help you overcome these challenges.

Where is the course held?

Our pool dives are held across two locations in Bristol. You can choose the pool session that suits you best, with dives held weekly at both locations. Choose your dive at Winterbourne International Academy pool on a Monday evening from 7:30pm to 9:30pm, or at Thornbury Leisure Centre pool on a Thursday evening from 7pm to 9pm.

If you want to add additional open water dives at a local inland dive site then we can easily add this on for you, just mention it when you get in touch to book.

What scuba kit will you use?

You need nothing more than your standard scuba kit to Re-Activate. All kit hire is available if you haven’t got your own, just let us know when booking and this will be prepared and ready for you to use.

Who should take the course?

Do you remember every aspect of every PADI dive course you’ve ever undertaken? Are there certain skills you wish you could do better or with more confidence? Have you seen someone doing things in the water and thought ‘I wish I could do that!’? If any of these statements sound familiar then we feel we can help you to improve your diving.

What will you learn?

We are pleased to offer individual or a group full day coaching sessions, where you will have a PADI instructor dedicated to you, working alongside you on any aspect of diving that you feel needs improvement. All you need to do is explain the problem or the issue you are having in or around the water and we will analyse what needs doing and take you into the water to practice and perfect that particular skill or ability. You can work on as many aspects of diving as you wish, however, to get the most out of your session we advise focusing on a few key skills where we can really work with you to improve.

We will always try to match your issues with the PADI instructor best capable of dealing with that problem so that you can achieve as much as possible during your day.

The coaching days are available for any level of diver, from a PADI Open Water diver who has always struggled with mask clearing skills to a budding technical diver who really wants to work on their back finning technique!
