Junior Diving - Hidden Depths Scuba School

JUNIOR Diving

When I speak to divers, the one regret they have about learning to dive is not doing it earlier in life! Introducing children to the wonders of the underwater world can set them up with a passion and a skill for life. Diving encourages team work, communication and time outdoors, and so is a great activity for anyone to undertake.

Through teaching children to dive I hope to be able to pass on my passion for diving onto the next generation!

Bubblemaker Dive

Bubblemaker Dive

Do you want a great way to introduce your children to scuba diving in a pool in less than two meters of water?

Do you want to celebrate a birthday by throwing a memorable, exciting Bubblemaker party with friends and family? It’s fun, easy and open to children aged 8 and above.

The Fun Part
Youngsters can join in the family fun of scuba diving or even start a trend! Children should be comfortable in the water, but they don’t have to be super swimmers. With youngsters in mind, the maximum depth is only 2 metres. Bubblemaker sessions with Hidden Depths Scuba School last 2 hours. This includes time to fully brief the divers about the session and the diving equipment they will be using, as well as time to answer any questions you or your children have. From here the children will spend up to an hour in the water having fun, all under the supervision of a fully qualified PADI Professional.

What You Learn
Kids get a chance to:

  • Experience what scuba diving is like under the direct care and supervision of PADI Instructors
  • Take their first breaths underwater
  • Learn about and use scuba diving equipment made for children

The Scuba Gear You Use
Children use all the same basic scuba gear as adults, but which is made for their size and stature. The pools are nice and warm, so there is no need to use wetsuits, although you’re welcome to bring one if you have your own.

PADI Seal Team

PADI Seal Team

The PADI Seal Team is perfect for young scuba divers who are looking for action-packed fun in a pool by completing exciting AquaMissions. By joining the PADI Seal Team you’re going to be doing some cool stuff in the pool, meeting friends and sharing in the adventure of the underwater world.

Who should take this program?
To join the PADI Seal Team, a child must be 8 years of age or older. No prior experience with scuba diving is necessary, but kids should be comfortable in the water. Parental approval is required.

What will you learn?
The PADI Seal Team program teaches responsibility and respect for the aquatic realm, as well as looking out for yourself and your buddy underwater. It’s split into two parts, beginning with AquaMissions 1 – 5. These dives cover basic scuba diving skills such as breathing underwater, clearing a mask of water, recovering a regulator and swimming around experiencing the sensation of being weightless. Each session involves an hour for a dive briefing, equipment preparation and time for questions, before we spend an hour in the water with full scuba kit. We finish each lesson with a debriefing followed by logging the dive and awarding Seal Team stickers to complete the log books!

Complete all five AquaMissions and become a recognized PADI Seal Team Member. These experiences also count toward the Master Seal Team and Junior Open Water Diver courses when you’re old enough to participate in them.

How can you start learning now?
We run regular Seal Team Programmes across both our pool locations. Please get in touch to schedule a course to suit your children, and get started with a PADI Seal Team Crew-Pak. Your Crew-Pak includes everything a PADI Seal Team Member needs to prepare for their AquaMissions including a fun DVD, activity book with puzzles, and log book pages to track your adventures.

What scuba gear will you use?
In the PADI Seal Team program, you learn to use basic scuba gear, including a mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device, dive gauges and a cylinder. We use Kit designed for children, including small cylinders, junior mouthpieces and adjustable buoyancy control devices.
